Additional features include a highly responsive respirator, an explosion-proof pressure release valve, efficient heat sinks, and high-grade insulation bushings. The integrated tap changer, quick-responding gas relay, reliable thermometer, and state-of-the-art oil purifier ensure the transformer operates at peak efficiency, promising durability and reliability.
Due to the continuous immersion of the high-quality silicon steel laminates within the transformer, the oil effectively penetrates the interlayers, utilizing the elastic properties of transformer oil to provide a cushioning effect. As a result, our oil-immersed transformer operates with remarkably low noise. However, it is important to note that the voltage regulating switch is ingeniously housed inside the oil tank. Therefore, during voltage adjustments, the switch's contact condition is not externally visible. If the contact is compromised, it can lead to a disruption in the circuit's integrity. Should the contact prove inadequate and the load becomes excessive, the switch may become susceptible to damage or burning out.
Transformer normal service conditions
1. The installation height does not exceed 1000 meters above sea level;
2. Maximum ambient air temperature reaches +40ºC;
3. Maximum daily average air temperature is +30ºC;
4. Maximum annual average air temperature is +20ºC;
5. Minimum outdoor air temperature recorded at -25ºC.

Type of cooling
(1) Typically, oil-immersed transformers employ three sophisticated cooling methodologies: self-cooling, air-cooling, and forced oil circulation.
The self-cooling approach leverages the natural convection of oil to effectively dissipate heat.
(2) The air-cooling enhancement builds upon the self-cooling foundation, incorporating additional fans to force air into the oil tank and pipes, thereby amplifying the heat dissipation capability. The forced oil circulation method employs an oil pump to extract heated oil from the transformer, cool it externally, and then seamlessly reintegrate it.
Structure Function
Within the main substation of urban rail transit power systems, the primary transformer typically employs a sophisticated three-phase oil-immersed design. This transformer intricately consists of essential components such as the core, windings, oil tank, voltage regulation apparatus, radiator, oil reservoir, gas relay, insulation bushing, and explosion-proof tubing, among others.
1. Core
The core comprises meticulously stacked silicon steel sheets, renowned for their excellent magnetic conductivity, forming a closed magnetic flux circuit. The primary and secondary windings are expertly wound around this core.
Our core is available in two structures: core type and shell type, with the core type being predominantly used. The core type transformer's structural integrity consists of a core column and a yoke. Specially designed internal oil channels facilitate cooling, promoting efficient oil circulation and significantly enhancing the equipment's heat dissipation.
2. Winding
The winding, often referred to as the coil, serves as the transformative core's conductive circuitry. Crafted by meticulously wrapping either copper or aluminum wire into intricate, multi-layered cylindrical formations, the windings create a harmonious balance. Arranged concentrically around the core's column, the primary and secondary windings are insulated from one another, ensuring optimum performance and safety. Typically, the low-voltage winding nestles on the inside, while the high-voltage winding graces the outer layer. A protective sheath of insulating material envelops each wire, safeguarding against unwanted connections between the wires themselves and between wires and the ground, thereby optimizing both functionality and safety.
3. Oil Tank
The oil tank elegantly encases the oil-immersed transformer, serving as both a reservoir for oil and a structural foundation for additional essential components. [2]
4. Voltage Regulator
Ingeniously engineered, the voltage regulator is designed to maintain the secondary voltage of the transformer at a constant and reliable level. In response to fluctuations in power supply voltage, this regulator deftly adjusts the transformer's tap switch, ensuring stability in the secondary output voltage. The voltage regulator is categorized into two types: the on-load voltage regulator and the off-load voltage regulator, each serving pivotal roles in the seamless operation of the transformer.
5. Radiator
The radiator, strategically affixed to the oil tank wall, plays a vital role in managing and dispersing heat. Through an intricate network of pipes, the radiator is connected to both the upper and lower sections of the oil tank. When discrepancies arise in oil temperature between these sections, the radiator initiates oil convection, ingeniously circulating cooled oil back to the tank. This process effectively moderates the transformer's oil temperature. To amplify the cooling action, various methods such as self-cooling, forced air cooling, and forced water cooling are employed, each contributing to the overall efficiency and longevity of the transformer.
6. Oil Sump
Referred to as the oil tank, the oil sump is an integral component designed to accommodate the natural thermal expansion and contraction of transformer oil due to temperature fluctuations. As oil levels rise and fall, the oil sump acts as a reliable buffer, ensuring a consistently filled oil tank. Moreover, its presence minimizes the exposure of oil to air, thereby slowing down the oxidation process and enhancing the oil's durability and performance.
7. Gas Relay
The gas relay, or gas protection relay, stands as a critical defense mechanism safeguarding against internal transformer faults. Positioned at the midpoint of the connecting pipe between the oil tank and oil sump, this device activates in response to severe internal malfunctions. In dire situations, the gas relay engages the circuit breaker trip path; for less critical issues, it connects the fault signal circuit, providing a comprehensive protective oversight.
8. Insulation Bushing
The high and low insulation bushings, strategically located on the transformer's oil tank top cover, are pivotal for maintaining superior insulation between the high and low voltage winding leads and the oil tank. Typically constructed from porcelain, these bushings ensure reliable insulation and structural stability, effectively securing the leads in place and safeguarding against electrical anomalies.
9. Explosion-proof Tube
The explosion-proof tube, often hailed as the safety air passage, is a critical safety feature affixed to the transformer's oil tank. Its outlet, sealed with a precise glass explosion-proof membrane, acts as a safeguard. In the event of a serious fault within the transformer or a failure of the gas relay, the internal gas pressure will shatter the membrane along the safety air passage, thereby preventing a catastrophic explosion and ensuring the transformer's safe operation.
