A dry-type transformer is a type of transformer that does not use liquid cooling agents. Unlike traditional oil-immersed transformers, dry-type transformers use air as the cooling medium, thus eliminating the safety hazards such as oil leakage and explosion. At the same time, dry-type transformers also have the advantages of simple structure and convenient maintenance, making them widely used in various industries. The main components of a dry-type transformer include the main wiring, high and low voltage windings, core, and insulating materials. The main wiring of a dry-type transformer is usually made of high-purity copper or aluminum, capable of withstanding high temperatures and high currents.It is widely used in local lighting, high-rise buildings, airports, docks, CNC mechanical equipment and other places. In simple terms, a dry-type transformer refers to a transformer whose core and windings are not impregnated with insulating oil.
Transformer normal service conditions

2.Highest air temperature +40ºC;
3.Highest daily average air temperature+30ºC;
4.Highest annual average air temperature +20ºC;
5.Lowest outdoor air temperature -5ºC.

Type of cooling
The cooling methods are divided into natural air cooling (AN) and forced air cooling (AF). During natural air cooling, the transformer can operate continuously at the rated capacity for a long time. When using forced air cooling, the output capacity of the transformer can be increased by 50%. This method is suitable for intermittent overload operation or emergency accident overload operation; however, due to the significant increase in load loss and impedance voltage during overload, it is in an uneconomical operating state, so it should not be allowed to operate under long-term continuous overload conditions.
Structure type
The core is mainly composed of silicon steel sheets and the coils are epoxy resin cast. Insulating tubes are placed between the high and low voltage coils to enhance electrical insulation, and the coils are supported and constrained by pads. The fasteners for the components that are connected together have anti-loosening properties.

The windings: Among the two windings, the one with higher voltage is the high-voltage winding, and the one with lower voltage is the low-voltage winding.
From the relative positions of the high and low voltage windings, high voltage can be divided into concentric type and overlapping type.
Concentric windings are simple and easy to manufacture, and this structure is adopted in all cases.
