The transformer operates with a unique low voltage combination of 2 * 0.23kv, differentiating it from ordinary single-phase two-wire system transformers. Its low voltage current is merely half of the rated current of standard single-phase transformers, with a1-a2 voltage at double the 230v norm, resulting in current at half levels. The standout advantage is a line loss that is reduced to just a quarter (P=1/2R), a key reason why many international users favor this single-phase transformer over conventional ones.
